Plastercraft figures-another idea

Hi, all,
 My 5th graders just finished plastercraft figures on Friday. Even the ones
with reputations as behavior problems were so engrossed and excited over
their creations, that they were perfect angels!!
 
Here's what they did: These are Self-Portrait Sculptures:
 
Each student had to decide how they wanted to portray himself or herself.
They had to incorporate what they like to do best- their favorite hobby and
put the pliable armature in that position. They used pipe cleaners as an
armature and I stapled each of these to a plywood base (about 8"x8'). Next, they
added aluminum foil around the pipe cleaners, careful to watch proportions, so
that the body was much thicker than the arms and legs. Then, in one 40
minute session, they added plastercraft.
 
I'm so happy that I came up with a way to smooth and color the sculpture, so
that they look really "finished...no paint...They made "skin" and clothes
with non-bleeding tissue paper stuck on with Modge Podge (acrylic medium) and
then a coat of this to add a nice smooth shine- no bumpy plastercraft showing
through!!! I took a digital picture of each of their faces. they glued this
to cardboard, and we hot glued to the face (which they left flat on the
sculpture for this purpose). They made "props"-footballs, basketballs, easels,
books, skateboards, etc. out of Model Magic and/or wood scraps, etc. They
painted the wood bases, added a card to the base with their name: Jane Doe
Likes: Reading, going to the movies, swimming. Especially likes: painting The
"especially likes" is what the sculpture shows the student doing.

can you post? M-mmm, don't know how to send them though. Can someone explain
how to do this with a PC?
Susan on Long Island, where so far everyone (who isn't originally from
Boston like me) is carrying on about a blizzard, and we got about 10" of snow so
far (no big deal)...now New England, they know SNOW!!!!!
