Hi Gina,
The camera I have been using for a long time to document children and
their artwork in classrooms is an Olympus C-700 with 2.1 megapixel and
optical zoom. Because of the zoom feature, I can be more unobtrusive as
I photo very young children working and the child's art products art
clear and crisp.
Part of your problem might be the graphic program that you use to
download the photos to your computer. Mine goes automatically to my
iPhoto on my iMac. It has some editing features. If I want to make
further edits, I export it to Photoshop Elements. Another thing to think
about is the quality of your printer.
Hope this is helpful.
