I would be glad to help anyone working on National Boards. They
continue to have a daily impact, improving the quality of learning
experiences I offer my students. If you would love to have someone hold
you accountable for everything art teachers are supposed to do, I
recommend National Boards. It took me 2 hours a day for 6 months. But I
had lots to learn. Others are a lot faster at it. You need lessons that
demonstrate 8 different educationally correct operatives working in
sync at the same time. You have to prove they are at work. This is the
way it should always be! But I certainly had a lot to do to bring
myself up to speed. I loved it and found it challenging. I think we all
want to help our students as effectively as we can, and that is NB's
only goal. I think many people in this forum would be great candidates.
You are all demonstrating your commitment to your students regularly
through this forum. I think I said this in another note, but much of
the beauty of the program was found in the Standards document for your
age group. If you ever wondered what you should really be doing, this
is really good. To know if NB is for you, download the Standards for
the appropriate age group and begin to consider your teaching in this
light.
Anyone could email me offline with individual questions.
