In our private school a parent and a member of the school board told the
upper school Art teacher she wasn't going to let her daughter take her "blow off"
Art class. The parent actually had an Art degree herself but admittedly
never used it. I found that to be rude and just plain mean. If she wanted to
help, she could volunteer or give constructive critism. I told my friend to
not pay any attention to her. One of her students last year won a full
scholarship to a very expensive and hard to get into private college in Dallas with
her portfolio. I told her to just think about that when she was feeling
insecure.
