Robin - you CAN do this.... I will need some questions
answered by you before I give you all of my ideas. (I
took a class myself that was one week long --we did
clay all day long -- and all but one of my projects
came home fired - I deliberately did not glaze fire
mine at the time - and my prof understood).

1. How to you intend to speed up drying? - does this
facility have a drying room/space that is heated? Or
do you plan to dry them slowly in an open kiln with
bottom switch on low?

2. How many kids do you anticipate?

3. What kind of budget will you have?

4. How much experience do you have with
glazing/decorating techniques yourself?

5. How much art history are you planning to integrate?

6. Are you interested in making this a cultural study
as well?

7. How many kilns will you have access to?

8. Will you be getting your supplies from a store
nearby? or do you have to order everything in advance?
How many colors are you planning to make available to
the kids? How many decorating techniques?

9. Are you willing to take the ideas I give to you and
try them yourself before you try them with the kids?
What works for me and has worked for me may not work
the same for you - or with the materials you select.
What grade levels do you teach now? Maybe you can
sample some of the ideas with them? Start an "Art
Club" to be your test group? My son was always my
"test group" for the Art Resource center projects - as
I did my sample - he would make one right along with
me - I could see right away what problems kids might
have. I never told him what to do -- he watched me --
and I watched him (he was several years younger than
the kids I was teaching)

10. Are you willing to submit ONE image of each
project to Incredible Art Department to share with
others? If this answer is no --then you can save
yourself some time. I guess I should have put this one
first... I have given lots of ideas over the last four
and a half years that will work for you - and most of
them are in the archives - not all.

Robin - you can answer these to the list -- or off
list just for my eyes only Jdecker@woh.rr.com)

Best wishes! You CAN do this.
