Wow....there is no way you can teach clay every day!! At least not kiln
clay. You might be able to do kiln clay the first day, then put it right in the
kiln (at very low with door cracked), dry it out for 2 days then do a slow
fire...then glaze on Thursday do glaze firing Thursday ASAP and you should be able
to open kiln Friday to distribute finished pieces.

Perhaps you could do other kind of modeling media. Even air dry clay may not
dry fast enough for you to paint. I know the place where I teach summer
classes is so cold because of the A/C that NOTHING dries inside!!! I have to put
all paintings, papier mache, etc. outside. It is kind of a nuisance!
Especially last summer when it rained almost every day!

You could do model magic, sculpey (comes in white and terra cotta
blocks..this is what I use to replace kiln clay for summer classes), air dry clay, paper
pulp....etc. I hope others will come up with some ideas for you.

Hope this helps!!!
