You have been engaged in some good contemplation...wise thinking, Marvin!
Thanks for the link, which I will spend a bit of time on.

Unfortunately right now...I am beginning to understand a bit of the
frustration of academic teachers. Until now...I never personally
experienced how kids fail to put out effort to bother to read. I think the
method of summing up a paragraph, the using one or two words to describe the
summation surely forces them to think about what they are reading. Makes me
wonder how the academic teachers are doing this. If I'm not careful, I am
likely to allow myself to wonder aloud if those teachers might not benefit
from the same kind of note taking procedure... and the danger there of
course is that art teachers are not perceived as educators in the academic
sense. After all...what do we know, we just make pretty pictures!
