No, Woody. You don't have to use sharp exacto knives. You can do this with only scissors as we did in our 7th grade rotation artwork. I would suggest, however, that you have some tweezers handy for the kids as it's very tedious to glue small pieces. I find exacto knives a hinderance as kids this age don't cut smoothly with them and pieces look jagged generally. I would suggest NOT using them. Toodles....Bunki
