Deborah,
I loved your circus art especially the circus train. Thanks for
sharing. Our school has a circus theme this year and our big writing night
is in March so I'm doing a lot of circus art now. First graders have been
drawing animals from ED Emberely's drawing book. I stapled some little books
together ( we called them "sketchbooks like the big kids have " and they
love it. Anyway I was really sure what we were going to do with all these
animals and now I'm thinking a train!
My 5th graders are just finishing 18 x 24 clowns after studying
Rouault. They painted black outlines first and then used primary colors
+black+white and no cleaning brushes allowed. They turn out really
dramatic. I should get some photos on my web page soon. Second graders are
making a circus like Calder's and 4th graders are making the foil people as
clowns. Kindergarten painted seals for "s" week. I do have some of them on
the kindergarten letter page.
