Re: What art do YOU do?

I have begun seriously working on my art, which is oil painting. I
finished my master's a year ago, and even though it was in art ed., I took
as many painting classes as possible. Now I've begun entering juried shows
(won 3rd place in my first one!) and just got a grant through the NC Arts
Council for "emerging artists". It's tough teaching and creating, though.
It helps that my children are in high school and college, and they think
it's cool that mom's an artist. In a couple of weeks a girl scout group (I
think they're studying careers)is coming to my house to discuss how I
balance my art and my "day job" and to see my little studio. I thought the
timing was ironic since this is an issue that I am very much struggling
with. I want to spend 8 hours a week (at least) on my painting, and even
though that doesn't sound like much, it's hard to find sometimes.
