I do a little bit of art every night while I watch TV. I'm involved in something called "mail art" where I have penpals who also make small collages and we exchange them back and forth in the mail, in addition to writing letters to eachother. I use painted papers, colored pencil and ink drawings, magazine scraps, fibers, beads and a variety of textured paper scraps to create these. I don't really have much of my own work to show for it, but I have small artworks from artsy people all over the world. Many of these are hanging in my apartment or kept in a binder collection. It's definitely a creative release for me and I feel strange if I miss a night of making art. To me it's about the process, and connecting with other creative people in other parts of the world. I also enjoy photography, when I have breaks from school as well as larger paintings and collages when I have a bigger chunk of free time. Sometimes I will make clay work at school, when the kids are working on their
clay projects, or I will make art at school during art club, or after school when I have kids finishing up their class work. I just sit next to the kids, make my art and chat with them. They like to see the art that I make.
