Hi Judy,

If your school has access to a DVD player have a look at the 'extras'
included in the DVD of 'The Fellowship of the Ring'. I' m quite sure (99%)
that it includes some discussion of the design and making of costumes and sets.

Just this week, doctors here in Perth, were showing how they have developed
the digital scanning technology, used for creating the characters and masks
in 'Lord of the Rings', to create a mould for use in delicate brain
surgery. Art leading science!
