A great specific source for you to integrate math and science with be to
teach about the inventions of Leonardo DaVinci....you could have kids try to
re-create some of his science and math oriented ideas...like making a birds
wing and a plane wing and comparing them or something on that level...there
is so much science involved in art processes...mixing substances to make art
materials...etc...or optical phenomena such as those found in Joseph Albers'
book, "The Interaction of Color"...etc...

Subject: art integrated with math and science
Greetings,
I'm new to this service and in the short time that I have used it, I am
quite impressed. I am in the process of planning a 6-week curriculum for my
annual Upward Bound summer program and I would like to put together a course
on art. But, I have to find a way to integrate math and science into the
lessons in some way. I have already found some resources that were posted
in past threads, but am wondering if there are any more or any new ideas out
there. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
