RE: Forget about stools

I used to have stools adjusted to 20 or 22 inches. They seemed sort of
tall for the 2nd graders who are my youngest. I ordered new ones last
year, as the old ones were at least 26 years old, falling apart,
rusting, yuck. When the new ones came in, the maintenance dept. put
them together for me before I even saw them. They tightened them at
18". Believe it or not, this works for all my kids, even me! (I am
5'9"). I have some pretty big upper schoolers in sometimes, and they
look ok on them too. I would never have told them to screw them
together at 18", but this works better than last year's height.
I have no complaints about stools. If I ever see a kid tilting back on
their stool I just correct them. Doesn't happen too often, and nobody
has ever fallen over on one, lucky for me. I like stools because if you
want the kids to paint or whatever from a standing position, the stools
fit right under the table. They are easy to handle, stack, unstack,
move, etc. And they take up the least space. My 2 cents!
