mylar

I saw a drawing many years ago at the Philadelphia Musuem of Art that has
always stayed with me.
The artist drew on frosted mylar, incoporated tracing paper layers and press
type. I used it as a jumping off point with my class. And the project was
great. Unfortunately it was so long ago, I have no examples.
My art room used to be the school's media center and when I moved in, I
inherited all kinds of graphic art supplies including boxes and boxes of
old press type. The kids just loved the press type and it worked so well
with putting text into art. But it's all gone

Since the graphic arts business has gone to be almost all computerized I
can't find many of these materials anymore. Does anybody know where to get
mylar and does anybody still make press type? Sometimes the old stuff is
just so much fun.
