sounds cool, Susan. The sinks are outside the U at the end, and your
workbench/display/shelving is inside the U, right? What is on the walls
around the outside of your U?
Hi, Linda,
Ouside the "U" is a 10'x14'carpet. (My room is huge.) My classes usually
begin with the children sitting on this "magic carpet" and discussing artists/art
history, reviewing the lesson of the week before, etc. From there we move to
the demonstration table, then to the work tables- and all in 40 min.! On the
back wall is my kiln and lots on cabinets for storage. In the front of the
room is my computer, printer, etc. and t.v. Windows run the length of the room
where the carpeting is underneath. If it sounds ideal, it is- an art
teacher's DREAM! For those who "know" me for years on this list, know I paid my dues
for years and years in another school on one cart, working from an unheated
closet(where I was frequently very ill), on three floors and no sinks in the
classrooms! In my current school I even have two 15x15' ft. storage closets, a
big work sink and the kids have four corian (while I'm happy to have
stainless steel in my own kitchen at home-LOL) sinks to use. My dream art room- pinch
me!
