Art Advocacy is another one of my "passions" for 2004.
It all depends on the day which one is most important
that day (smile).
November 2003 was Larry Prescott's "Art Advocacy"
month. He launched an exceptional web site to showcase
his students' work (and HIS OWN work).
http://mms.d321.k12.id.us/webart/index.html
This was a LOT of work for Larry - but he got the
attention of the local media and there was a newspaper
article all about it (more on that to come).
Folks -anyone visiting Larry's site looking for more
of his lesson plans has to wait now - Larry is now
framing art for the "Permanent Art Collection" -
Making his own frames. Anymore lesson plans added will
be after he has work done for his students - They are
number 1.
How can you get YOUR name and school noticed (If you
do not have a site)? For all new plans coming into IAD
- I will add YOUR NAME in the title of the lesson.
Then when I learn how -I will add the name of your
school also in the Meta Tag.
In my "spare time" I will go and change all existing
plans to make sure those come up too when folks search
for your name to see what YOU are doing to
support/advocate your program. I can be a pretty good
advocate for you, too.
Now my Thanks to Larry Prescott? - He got MY name to
come up first page Google when you enter "Judy Decker
artsednet" (I discovered that just the other day). The
"naughty posts" don't come up anymore (at least not
first page). Folks - I never "Googled" my name until
the Tech Guy at school Googled everyone's name on our
team - funny story to share about that one. He did
find my two web site on first page Google. I've known
for a long time that our posts come up in searches.
Note Getty Folks: See what comes up when you need
Bunki Kramer's email address now.
Here's hoping you have a successful year! You Rock!

P.S. Happy VGLBDAP Day to everyone! All who are a
VGLBDAP already know this is their special day - their
mailboxes are just JAMMED full. Don't ask Yahoo if you
want to know. Road Runner might be back logged too.
Just smile all VGLBDAP people! My other goal for 2004
was to laugh more - that came from Sandy Bacon. I
listen to my teachers. Sandy is a VGLBDAP person.
