The judges that I had hand selected for last year's MSHSL
Visual Art
Evemnt for Section 4AA in Minnesota consisted of an
Associate
Professor of Visual Art at a state university, the chairs of
a visual arts
department at a private college and a public high school,
and an artist /
art instructor from a local art college. Since then, Art
Educators of MN
held the first judges' certification program at our annual
fall conference
this year where 20 art educators became certified to judge
these state
events as well. Judges (and others involved in putting the
events on),
are paid a stipend out of the funds that each school pays to
the MN
State High School League, as are athletic coaches and music
directors
who work events in their respective areas. The amounts vary
depending on the job that they do and the time commitment
attached to
the positions.
