Recently we had a virus and talked to a tekki friend of ours. We tried Spyhunter and it didn't work.
We downloaded a free program called "Spybot" and it worked fantastic. Our virus popped up a million pop-ups and was changing our homepage. What the virus did was attached itself to a file within Microsoft Office, which makes it undetectable to most anti-virus programs. A friend of ours had one that froze up her desktop. My DH downloaded spybot for her and it cleared it up right away. Like I said, it's free, but the originator takes donations. It seems to be a great program- we're sold!
