This is what I found on site that is in Spanish:

Self-portrait "The Frame", 1938 In 1939 took place the exhibition, organized
by André Breton, "Mexique", where Mexican paintings, sculptures,
photographies and objects of popular art were exposed. Also east
self-portrait was exposed, that was acquired by the Louvre, being the first
picture of a Mexican artist of this century in entering the museum. Creek
was very proud of this honor and often the success of its woman in Paris was
put nostalgic when remembering. The picture and the blue bottom are painted
on an aluminum panel. The floral ornamentos that frame it and the two birds
are painted on crystal and are placed on the picture.
