RE: Frida Kahlo and "The Frame"

this project is evolving! I have enough donated trophy backgrounds
(clear plexi with some holographic 'rays') to use behind the self
portraits if I make them small and oval shaped (approx 3" x 5"). So now
we will be cutting out all those ovals from cardboard and covering them
with foil, then painting a small self portrait on them. THen The
students will attach the self portrait to the front of the trophy
background. I will be discussing "The Frame" and connecting it to the
retablo style art of Mexicoas my art history connection.
I can't wait. After my website is up and going (still in the early
stages - suggestions?) I'll be sure to include these.

Wow! I am so glad that you shared this. I have been wanting to do a
sef portrait lesson based on "The Frame" and was very curious about the
feedback you would get.
