For our journal covers, I used Ambrite (I think that's the spelling) drawing
chalk floated on plain water. We made a design on white oaktag, using
Sharpie markers, then we marbled right over top of the design. If students
don't use too much chalk, the Sharpie design shows, and the chalk doesn't
rub off or need fixed. There were lots of compliments about the results.
