<PRE>I am giving a random design/drawing exam. The past couple years I have given
my Independent Study students a drawing exam...this year I am varying
it...they have to create a nonobjective design on a grid (diamond or square
enlarged to 18x24) using a variety of designs to fill random squares of the
grid. They must demonstrate control of value, balance and composition
without creating an image that can be labeled. This is a first so I will be
interested to see how they accept the challenge. Plus they will have a
written critique of their work.
