site-specific sculpture?

I'm preparing a lesson to do with my advanced art 8th grade class on site-specific public sculptures. I want them to pick a public place or building and design a maquette for a sculpture that would go with that site. I'm going to have them make the mini-sculpture out of clay. I also want them to create a poster with a picture of the place for their sculpture and a written statement about the place and how their sculpture would fit into that location. They would also include their preliminary drawings on this poster. Has anyone done this type of project before with a class and have any ideas for me? Does anyone know any good websites about public sculptures or any public sculptures I should definitely include when talking about this? Thanks in advance for your help.
