Been lurking, and real busy with Youth Art Month fast approaching.
YARN---
I always order two boxes of Traitex cones of yarn for my elementary art
classes. I find their yarn to be high quality, great assortment of colors
between the two sets.
Bright Colors In Dispenser Box — 9 cones. Each 8-oz, 630 yds, total 5670 yds.
White, Black, Blue, Violet, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Brown.
Intermediate Colors In Dispenser Box — 9 cones. Each 8-oz, 630 yds, total
5670 yds. Gray, Blue-Violet, Yellow-Orange, Yellow-Green, Dark Green, Ochre,
Turquoise, Pink, Light Brown.
I also got a bulk assortment from somewhere, my kids loved the colors I
hated. It was a big jumble though, but it was really cheap to buy. So of a
kid wants a few piees to take home for something, they can only pick from
that box. (saves my good yarn) They were fascinated by the varigated shades,
which lead into a discussion of how do they dye it that way( I still don't
know the answer to that one :)
I do weaving in third and fifth grades. Although I would love to see what
others are doing. I've seen Yarn people, and pictoral weaving on display,
but... can never quite get the instructions to do these. ( anyone have the
plans, and willing to share ??)
EMAIL VIRUSES--- The little buggers have viruses that take email addresses
from various peoples address books, and send them on , and on amd on to many
others and the infection continues. The people listed onthe mails did nothing
wrong , except to have been in someones address book, or on a list serv
somewhere.
So there is nothing they can do to stop this. I keep getting emails form the
colmans, with attacments. Since I subscribe to the digest, and do not email
to them personally, I know this is a scam email sent to transfer a virus.
Just be wary of emails for things you did not ask for. One even said art
plans. (very sneaky) Being on digest does help eliminate a lot of bad emails.
Email name origins--- Mine (mrsbeeswax) is what my first graders call be
(butchering the name Besack) it still cracks me up. Some parents have even
called me that because the kid swears to them , that BEESWAX is my name. so
for an email , I went with it.
