Yep, I can see that letting administration know that you have other teaching
credentials can diminish one's art classes. However, I found in my eight
year stint teaching 7th grade world history (3 periods) and art (2 periods)
that I got A LOT more respect from both staff and administration because I
was teaching an "academic" class. Snort!!
Boy...I couldn't agree more but I've seen the change in "respect" more with
kids and parents. They are CERTAINLY more inclined to be more respectful
when a math grade is on the line...as opposed to a failing art grade
(grin). It just makes me shake my head in wonderment as to why it would be
so dramatically different....but there it lies.
I won't use the old adage of lemons and lemonade, but rather, "when it
rains, start swimming and be like Esther Williams!"
Ha....I'm doin' the backstroke every day! Toodles.....Bunki
