Thanks to all for your advice on the matting issue. The artwork was
heading to Austin, Tx for YAM selection.

The old rule of thumb was to make the bottom of the mat wider than the

other three equal sides. I started working for a professional framer
over 10 years ago, and only on special occasions did we cut the bottom

wider. You don't want your mat to overwhelm the piece. So, I would
suggest looking at maybe 2 and 1/2 all the way around, or 3 if you are

planning on framing it with a larger width frame. See how it looks --

after all, you will be the best judge -- it's kinda personal. Have
fun!
