A fun one I'm doing with my 6th graders (I got the idea at the KAEA
conference) - each student chose a famous portrait. They posed like their
chosen portrait and I took their picture with a digital camera, printed them
out 8x10, and they are "finishing" the painting to look like the original,
only with their own face. They are having a blast and it is so much fun to
listen to them discuss the "story" behind their artwork. You could have them
do something similiar digitally.
