Deborah,

My HSers use the single weight yarn from Trait-tex (the kind sold by Sax
and others), but double weight might go a little faster for your
students. My students prefer the bright colors instead of the
earthtones. I made yarn dispenser boxes so they can help themselves.

Whatever you do, DON'T order an "economical" grab bag of assorted
yarns. You will end up with colors nobody else orders or likes. I
ordered one of those years ago, which included four cones of orange and
four of pink. Both colors were FINALLY used up this past fall semester.
