Would it be possible to take a chunk of it and make a sculpture? Could it be
planed into boards and used to make a jungle gym of sorts?
As a tribute to the tree, how about if each child created a block print of
his/her interpretation of the tree, then they could all be printed on fabric
and sewn together quilt style, or even printed on nice paper and mounted
together quilt style as a permanent wall hanging in the school. You could
even include the dates of "birth" and "death" of the tree at the bottom.
Good luck. I hate to see trees cut down for any reason. Why is this one
being sacrificed? Linda in NC
