I am going to do mono prints with my special ed class. In the past I have
used both tempra and acrylics with a bit of water added to them to help keep
them moist thru the process. I have the kids make a drawing and tape it to
the table. I then overlay saran wrap (any cheap plastic wrap), pull it
taught and tape it to the table. I then let them paint. The plastic wrap
creates these really cool "krinkles" which adds a very interesting "texture"
to there work. I then have them press their paper into the paint and pull
the print. Once their dry, I have them outline the various shapes in marker
(or ink). We have done flowers and they looked awesome. I only have them
use primary colors (this way if they mix into the color next to it- it will
still be ok). Anyway, I haven't done this project in about 3 years so I
think I will have to retest my paint to see which type will work best for my
group- I am gearing towards the acrylic.
