I'm kind of surprised to hear that not many parents visit your sites--I've
always felt like such a loser for not wanting to put one up--now I feel
better!! I really feel that overall (and with the exceptions of the
over-achiever parents) most parents want to send their kids to school and
its OUR responsibility to teach them. They just want us to do the job and
not bother them. They are ok with coming around once or twice for a short
time for a performance of some kind, but honestly most parents would
rather stay home and not deal with it--even the good stuff. It's not that
they don't love their kids, they're just tired and want us to handle all
the education stuff. The only school stuff I want to see at night is my
own children's work--while I can appreciate the fact that other kids do
great work in a variety of areas--I don't care to spend my time reading it
or viewing it etc.
When I look at all your sites I am SO IMPRESSED! My God, the time and
effort you have put out--and now I discover that it's all for me!! I love
it. Please don't be offended. I am truly in awe of you all.
I think you should have questions the kids have to answer from the
sites, and e-mails to parents, notes about homework, make-up work etc. if
you want the parents to tune in. Do you really want that much day-to-day
contact with your parents?? In my own case, my internet provider isn't
always great. If I HAD to answer a question for my son and I couldn't get
online until after 10 pm and I go to bed at 8:30 some nites---I would be
VERY upset. Be careful what you wish for. Sid
