Is it possible that someone (maybe a parent?) could cut up sections of
branches into medallion-size pieces so that everyone could get a memento of
the tree? It there going to be a new one planted in its place? could you have
the kids create some kind of clay stones with inscriptions or drawings of the
old tree to place around the base of the new tree? It's sad to see something
so old get removed. Good luck.
