I just discovered a gold mine of very clear, line-only maps in our
library. They are published by a company called Facts on File and
permission is given for photocopying for educational use. These are
ring-bound, and divided by continent. In each section there is a map of
the continent, and then each country on that continent is on a separate
page. I like to use lots of maps in both my studio and art history
classes, and always had trouble getting clear copies from colored maps.
If you use maps a lot, too, and your library doesn't have these, maybe
your librarian would order them. Ours said Facts on File is well-known
enough that most librarians would probably have their catalog. She's
always been really good about ordering videos, slide sets, and books to
support my program.
