I have been teaching middle and high school art for the past two years- I
have been using Glencoe art book series for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Starts
with Introducing Art series for 6th grade, Exploring Art for 7th grade and
Understanding Art for 8th grade. Students like them. Has scope and sequence
and is easy to follow for students and a good teachers edition is easy to
follow. You can get overheads, large prints to show and talk about etc.
etc. - check it out... great teaching tool. My school district paid for the
total package 25 books for each grade level plus all the above mentioned and
more. It helps me keep on track with what I am teaching- the elements and
principles of art. And, the series by Glencoe aligns with the National
Standards for the Visual Arts.
