Re: about art bulletin boards....

Since art is an elective at my high school, I try to put up
bulletin boards with the finished work of everyone in the
class (if possible), and a brief explanation of what the
project was all about. I also list the name of the class,
as well as my name. Students in my classes have to sign
the front of their work, so name tags are not necessary.

I like putting everyone's up (read between the lines....not
just the "good ones") because I want kids to see that
there are many different solutions to the 'problem'. So
for example if my lesson is on line quality, it would say,
"Investigation using LINE".

The second semester I allow each of my advanced students to
put their portfolios in the showcase (as they have already
gotten into art school by then), and it is their
responsibility to show their work to the best of their
ability. Over the years I have had some interesting
showcases, including one with goldfish swimming in a bowl.
Last year's topper was Jon's who is in Parsons, whose
showcase not only had his work in it, but his entire
collection of toy soldiers climbing all over the pieces.
