I do this painting activity in elementary to experiment with how colors mix,
and how wet-on-wet watercolor works, but I'll bet H.S. kids would like it,
too. Do a wet on wet watercolor, fill the whole page with color. Let dry.
Look at the abstract shapes and designs, by adding black ink lines (or any
other media) turn it into a composition of abstract, yet recognizable
shapes. Good time to talk about line, shape, pattern, and composition also.
Or . . . cut it apart and make a collage.
