CERAMICS HELP PLEASE!!!

I have 2 questions....
My kiln doesn't seem to be getting hot enough. I fired yesterday
(glaze fire) and items on the bottom shelf broke....pieces broke off,
like the legs came off an octopus which had already been
bisqued......does that make sense????
I am puzzled...

Also one of the teachers here brought me her favorite mug. She had
cracked it microwaving it with very little coffee in it. She is
wondering if I can reglaze the inside bottom or it to fill the minute
crack. It is a salt glaze on stone ware item. I am dealing with
regular 06 Amaco glazes. What do you think?
