Situation:
Independent Study
Semester sechedule - 18 weeks - classes 50 min. each (soon to be 40 min.) -
5 days a week
Required: 8 Major projects (medium, size...etc optional - I do take into
consideration the projects of greater dimensions etc that require more time
and work and give them multiple project credit) - each project needs to have
a one page essay about the project and learning expectation and a series
(appox 20) thumbnail sketches of the idea before project initiation.
Required: 8 finished drawings (no size limitations or medium requirements)
This is more like a homework assignment.
Required: some form of research...question/answer or paper
Required: one museum visit each nine weeks
Question: Is this too much to ask of independent study students for one
semester? Most of the students are looking at art or art related careers.
I have had a lot of grief this semester that I am asking too much of them...I
need feedback before next semester begins.
