Are all the pieces fired? Are any fairly smooth? Try sanding lightly and
then burnishing with a stone ...like Maria Martinez...no glaze
necessary...beautiful surface when fired. I usually do this with coil or
small pinch pots. Also the surface can be carved. You can do a presentation
on the SW Indian pottery. It takes time to burnish and they keep very busy.
Only downside...they must be careful with their pieces, cause greenware
breaks so easily.
