Ken, what a treat you have in store!!!! Several years ago, probably 10 or
so, we rented an apartment in that same area---great walking around area.

Just off the top of my head:

There's a famous deli nearby--starts with a "Z" I think, just can't
remember the name.
Natural Museum of History--dinasours, mummies and such (again this might
not be the exact
name of the museum) is in that area.
The Frick Museum--a quiet, little mansion that has some wonderful art.
American Folk Art Museum down near Lincoln Center.
American Craft Museum (near MOMA)
SoHo--definitely.

There was a letter from someone in this group (maybe Susan on Long Island)
that circulated last year when the meeting was in NY of things to do. You
might do a search on the archives and see if you can retrive it.

Good luck and enjoy!!!!!

Hello all you New York artsednetters. My wife and I are going to be
spending a week in New York in February for our winter break. We have
rented a furnished apartment on the upper west side, 81st. and Columbus
area. We are going to see things I couldn't see at the convention last
year and to see New York. I will be seeing the Metropolitan Museum of art,
MOMA, and such but besides Museums what are some things not to miss. This
is my wife's first time and mine was only three days last year spent mostly
in the hotel. I would appreciate any help on shows, restruants, sights,
museums, or neat things to do when I am there. any help would be
appreciated.
