Since none of us have been to "all" the art museums, it seems that each of us
can only respond within our own frame of reference. Our opinion of "best" to
me really means our favorite art museums, often influenced by our taste in
art. Can't argue with one's favorites- opinions are neither "right" nor
"wrong". It would be fun and in a positive spirit to hear everyone's
favorites and the museums they recommend. Perhaps I would add them to my
agenda if I were visiting that part of the country, or the world.
Favorite Art Museums:
The Sistine Chapel, Rome
The Accademia Gallery, Florence
The Museum D'Orsay, Paris
The Picasso Museum, Paris The
The Museum of Modern Art, New York City
The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York City
Tate Modern, London
The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum of Art, Santa Fe
The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
These are my FAVORITES. The Louvre in Paris, The Metropolitan Museum of Art
in New York City, and the Tate Gallery in London, for examples, house some of
the greatest art in the world. Whenever I'm in the area, I don't miss going
to these museums, but they are not my favorites.
