RE: art club ideasWe sponsor a NAHS chapter and do take the students on =
field trips but also do crafts as the students want. We found that Tie =
One on on this list and collected ties and painted the front part white =
and did paintings on those for teachers,e tc. to all wear on a =
designated day to support the arts. They really liked that. Also, we =
have bought at a crafts store clear glass balls and did those pour the =
paint in ornaments; we have had local artists come in for workshops: one =
on caricatures, one on oil painting and we will have htis nmonth one on =
doing large pupets to wear for parades. We also do community service =
like doing decorations for groups.We did a mural once for a hospital and =
the hospital delivered large pieces of board and then came back for them =
to mount in the ward. We do seasonal things like decorating pumpkins and =
then selling them to teachers, etc.

We ahve made placements for seasonal things and laminated them to send =
to personal care homes or nursing homes. In other words we do anything =
that is using the students' art ability for their own enjoyment or =
improvement or for service to the community.
