5th grade.......A wonderful project that I did last years summer
olympics...which I might do with the winter....is paper mache action figures.
Use a wire armature, pad, paper mache and paint. The criteria is that they
must show action....and to kick off the project.....they actually spend a day
acting out action shots of various olympic sports......one minute poses in a
small group while the rest draw them in stick figures in their
sketchbooks...They then use one of these action poses and parlay it into one
of their olympic figures armatures and go to town. They display nicely
throughout the building and we always get a lot of oooohs......... Its
wonderful what they come up with.
