Dear Artful Traveler,
Don't miss the Wallace Collection where you can see Fragonard's "The
Swing." It is worth going to London just for that magnificent view of
18th Century joy! I agree that the V&A is spectacular, but you need
days not hours to view this one. You can take the train to Brighton,
which is an architectural marvel. Also, while in London, next to Royal
Albert Hall, stop in at the Royal College of Art for a visit. They love
to receive art teachers from the "colonies." Lots of Henry Moore
sculptures and David Hockney pieces that you will never see anywhere
else. Henry and David were graduates of RCA.
Be a tourist in the most pure sense and visit Hampton Court.
So much to see, but your trip will be easier if you get an "Eyewitness
Guide." They are splendid guides that will lead you right into
temptation!
Cheerio,
Lori
