    I don't think there are many specific things you can do to undo this damage.
    I would personally take the subtle approach. But nifty glitter pens, puff
    paints, etc. and leave them around. Do a bit of scribbling yourself with
    fabric marker on a shirt and then wear it. I would pull back from addressing
    it at all with him and drawing attention to it, including reacting in a major
    way when he does make attempts. Maybe find some really loose work, non
    objective stuff, to display on the walls. And then just relax about it if he
    still doesn't want to do it. My opinion...worth what you paid for it!
