Paris is a very easy city to get around in. The Metro (underground) is
inexpensive and safe. You'll have no problems if you keep your wits about
you. As with any big city, you need to stay alert to your surroundings.
One recommendation I have if you wish to visit the Louvre, is to buy a Museum
Pass at one of the tourist offices. This pass puts you at the head of the
line at any museum (unfortunately, not at the Eiffel Tower). At the Louvre
it is in not uncommon to see a long, long line of people waiting to get in.
With the museum pass, you walk to the head of the line, show the pass, and go
in.
Don't miss the Musee D'Orsay. And have a crepe from any vendor on the
street. They are wonderful.
