I've encountered children like this in my art classes. After some
investigation and
visiting with homeroom teachers about their home life a pattern has formed.
The ones I have in mind come from strict homes where they are not allowed to
make mistakes or messes - perfection either by the parent or child is
expected. Making
a mark on a pristine white surface is quite emotional for them. You
mentioned the
use of glue and paint so perhaps this isn't the case. Continue to encourage
the
little one - don't erase - make it into art.
