    Woody and all-
    I do the same kind of note taking----I find that I can only pay attention
    when my hand is moving and translating what I am hearing into visual symbols
    and an occasional word, usually drawn or incorporated into a design. I
    attended a class on "Mind Mapping" a few years ago which taught a method of
    notetaking that was highly visual but a bit more structured than what I have
    personally used. I do share both methods with kids...I especially think the
    very visual learners (often labelled LD in our system) can benefit from this.
