Yes, in this part of the country, all teachers receive pay based on
placement on the salary schedule based upon amount of education
and years of experience. (Math, science, art, social studies, etc.
and that is K-12) There are extra duty contracts for sports,
music, yearbook, drill team, etc. Art teachers get no extra duty pay
for all our hours of exhibits and such unless you count getting pay for
writing standards after hours and in the summer. I told my art supervisor
I would not be at his meeting Thursday because I get $19 an hour to video
the basketball game and nothing for attending his meetings.
